Everyone feels proud to attend school with a fresh set of clothes. With these brand new machines, local tailors have been busy sewing uniforms for students. | Crops are rotated into two seasons, corn and beans, over three acres of land. These are essential for providing meals throughout the school year. Once harvested, they are stored in the pantry on site. | Silas's own cows are used to trim and maintain the grass on the property |

Opening Day Ceremony
In October 2023, Samuel's Kitchen soft-launched with an opening ceremony which included a blessing of the children and site and the kitchen's first meal of many to come.
Fall semester was about to come to an end, and Silas was ready and excited to introduce the village to future possibilities by testing out his kitchen with the few days left before winter break.
Constructing the Site
SKIT
SKIT-- a short name chosen by Silas-- was officially painted on the buildings to signify to the community that the kitchen was nearly ready to open.
Food Pantry
Sitting about a foot off of the ground, a pantry keeps harvested crops and produce protected for all-weather.
Gates & Guards
Gates were added to surround to property and two night-guards were hired for added security.
Structures are complete
Most major work was finished on the dining hall, kitchen, and offices. A porch was added for the offices to make the building more welcoming.
Stoves
These ceramic stoves are used to cook the meals for lunchtime.
Staff Offices
Two offices sit side-by-side for Silas and other staff to be on-site.
Brick Work
Each structure was built by hand, brick by brick.
Laying a Foundation
Local workers carried wheel-barrows of cement to hand-pour and smooth the foundations for the buildings on the site.
Main Buildings Completed
From left to right, a completed kitchen, dining hall, and staff offices with water barrels for extra water supply are ready. Cooks have been hired, and local children are eagerly awaiting their new lunch program.
Solar-Powered Water Tank
A water tank was constructed with a solar-paneled roof to pump water for the kitchen
Paint & Windows
Two-way-mirrored windows help keep the buildings secure and private, and vents were left at the top for regular airflow. Structures were colorfully painted.
Growing Crops
Crops are grown for harvest. When ready, produce is stored in weather-proof pantries.
Kitchen is Built
The kitchen was halfway done, with the main structure completed. Each building on site was set with solar-powered on metal roofing.
Window Screens
Decorative bars were added to windows to provide security for the buildings
Materials Have Arrived
In the beginning stages, a massive order of bricks arrived to begin construction.
